Autumn leaves are falling down in Nursery!

13th Oct 2023

We have been learning all about autumn and woodland animals in Nursery. We read a number of autumn stories and sang lots of songs. We loved “Autumn leaves are falling down” the best.

We created play dough hedgehogs and had fun making autumn collages using the autumn finds we collected on our walk around school. We used loose parts to make autumn faces.

We read the story of the “Gruffalo” in the Rainbow Room. We painted Gruffalo’s and created our own Gruffalo models with junk materials. We drew houses for the different characters in the story on a woodland map. We had a go at baking a Gruffalo Crumble in our sensory tray. We baked Gruffalo cookies and had these as a tasty Friday treat!

We had our first Forest School this week. We learnt about Forest School boundary flags and we played a game called sleepy hedgehogs.

We are learning to take care of living things. We found worms in our garden and we put them in our bug hotel to look after them.
